Ljubljana, 25th November – Business Club Socius hosted the leading specialist for risk management and financial analyses on yesterday’s meeting, Mr. Branko Urošević, Ph.D., who spoke about the analysis of the financial crisis and possible responses to it. In continuation, participants from different economic societies discussing business opportunities stressed the challenges in the financial, as well as the communication field.   

An international authority in the field of risk management and financial analysis of the future Mr. Urošević, founder and president of South-European Center for Current Finances (SECCF), enlightened the participants with the term of risk management as the crucial topic in the financial crisis. At that he stressed the main questions every organization must deal with at this time, namely, how to protect the company’s profitability, how and which projects to finance in the time of budget limitations, how to successfully cooperate with financial institutions and how to assess the value f projects. Beside risk management, Mr. Urosević also mentioned the meaning of quality information, readiness for a new wave of managers, lasting development and the management of costs.

In continuation, through experiences of the following speakers: Mr.Drago Cotar, CEO of Zavarovalnica Maribor, Jadranka Dakić, deputy mayor of the community of Ljubljana, Tomaž Lovše, CEO of Diners Slovenia and Italy, Nina Tomažin, CEO of ProPiar and Drenislav Žekić, Vice-President of the Croatian public relations association, the participants learnt about opportunities the financial crisis brings. As the key reason for the financial crisis, the long period of time with an above-average economic growth and without the necessary control by financial institutions was stated. Thus, the crisis brings the necessary confrontation with the reality. With this, however, one of the main roles is clear communication, since all the public of the companies lost trust in them. The main role is here played by the company leaders, while the state also has to take a constructive role, mainly in the field of bank system management. The liquidity in economy is diminishing, thus businessmen are expecting long-term sources of financing and clear thinking about investments the state supports at present and shall support in the future. Each company has to indicate risk management as their essential element, which shall be put in practice only by experienced employees with a wide range of knowledge. The  reason for calling the present crisis an opportunity are the employees and the knowledge of every organization.
